Aro Valley is a vibrant inner city community of 3,500 people. They’re looking for 2 people who have experience, combined with a love of community. The roles are part time over 4-5 days for 20 hours a week.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPER: The community developer needs to have an aptitude in developing and running community events and community programmes, building relationships and fostering community cohesion. They need to be able to manage their own time and work well in a small team.
This community development role is based in the Aro Valley Community Centre office, alongside and with support from the Community Coordinator.
COMMUNITY COORDINATOR: The Aro Valley Community Coordinator provides administrative and organisational support for the operations of the Aro Valley Community Centre and other aspects of the work of the Aro Valley Community Council. The role requires a high degree of self-organisation. The Community Coordinator needs an aptitude and passion for accurately undertaking both complex and routine administrative tasks. The Community Coordinator also needs to have an affinity for community work, and strong relationship skills. An accounting background would be an advantage.
